Guliakhali Sea Beach
Guliakhali Sea Beach is located in Sitakunda Upazila of Chittagong district. This beach is known to the local people as Muradpur Sea Beach. The distance from Sitakunda Market to Guliakhali Sea Beach is just 5 kilometers. Nature did not have any niggard to decorate the amazingly beautiful Guliakhali Sea Beach. On one side, the sea water and on the other side of the Kewra Forest have made this sea beach unique. Aerial roots of Kewra tree can be seen around the canal flowing through the Kawra forest. The Kewra forest has gone far beyond the sea. Here you can feel the environment like Swamp Forest and Mangrove Forests together.
Guliakhali sea beach is unique because of its green grass like green carpet. The open field of green grass near the sea will surely impress you. Many zigzag drainages created naturally through the green field. These drainages become full of water during tide. The green grass surrounding it and the small canal filled with water in it will fascinate anyone. Guliakhali sea beach is not so much well known. For this reason, you will find a relaxed environment in this sea beach. Although the sea does not have so much raging or roar here, the environment of Guliakhali sea beach differently amazing. If you want, you can visit the sea in fishermen boat. In this case, it is necessary to take a bargain to fix the boat.
There is a large beautiful open field covered with green grass like a carpet on the side of Sea Beach. If you take football, you can play there. You will get a filling like playing on the turfed international standard stadium.

How to go there?
As this beach is situated in Sitakunda, at first you have to reach Shitakunda from any part of the country. You can reach Sitakunda from Dhaka and Chittagong In different ways.
Dhaka to Shitakunda:
By Bus: Sitakunda can be reached by any Chittagong going bus from Dhaka. AC and non-AC tickets for these buses will be 420-1000 taka. If necessary, you can ask the supervisor of the bus to drop you at Sitakunda.
By Train: You can reach Shitakunda by Sitakunda mail train from Dhaka by paying 120 Taka per person. Or you can go Feni from Dhaka by Intercity train. The rent will be 265-800 Taka depending on the class. Then you can go to Sitakunda from Feni by a local bus. From Feni to Sitakunda, a local bus will cost Tk 50 to 70 Taka per person.
Chittagong to Shitakunda:
From Chittagong, you can find Shitakunda going buses or Maxi from Olongkar Mor, AK Khan Mor, and Kadamtali. From these places, you can reach Sitakunda Bazar.
Shitakunda to Guliakhali Sea Beach:
From the bottom of Sitakunda bus Stand Bridge, you will be able to go directly to Guliakhali sea beach by CNG auto rickshaw or auto rickshaw. It will cost 150-200 taka for reserving auto rickshaw. It is necessary to take a bargain to fix the autorickshaw. Sometimes CNG or auto rickshaw cannot be found when coming back in the evening. So, to get back to Sitakunda, you can keep the contact number of CNG autorickshaw driver in advance. Or you can reserve for up and down.
Where will you stay and eat?
There is no arrangement for eating and staying in Guliyakhali Sea Beach. There is only a small shop on the sea beach. So take food from Sitakunda Bazar before going to Guliakhali sea beach. If you want to stay, you can stay at Hotel Saimun and Hotel Saudia in Sitakunda Bazar. You will get a room at Saimun for 300 to 600 Taka and you will have to count 600 to 1600 Taka for a room in Hotel Saudia. You can call for booking at 01991-787979, 01816-518119. If you want to stay somewhere better you have to go to Chittagong.
Take help from tourist police while traveling for safety. Do not dump your wastage here and there. Try to know the schedule of flow-tide and ebb-tide before going to the sea beach. It is better not to be near the beach during flow-tide. During the flow-tide, the canals become full of water. There may be problems in crossing. And since it is not the tourist-friendly beach, so be careful in the sea. If you do not know swimming you will never go far.
