Himchari National Park
Himchari National Park is located in Himchari in Cox’s Bazar district of Chittagong division of Bangladesh. Himchari National Park was established in the year 1980. Its area is 1729 hectares (17.29 square kilometers). It is located 12 kilometers away from the city of Cox’s Bazar. The main objective of setting up the Himchari National Park is research and teaching, tourism, entertainment and wildlife conservation.
Himchari National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in Bangladesh. Himchari National Park is a delightful natural environment. On one side of Himchari, there is a vast sea beach and on the other side, there are green rows of hills. This Himchari National Park is unique in terms of biodiversity. There are many waterfalls in the park, among which the Himchari waterfall is the most famous. Himchari National Park is a popular tourist center in Cox’s Bazar. Himchari National Park is an evergreen forest. Himchari forest is considered as an elephant habitat. There are about 117 species of plants in the Himchari National Park. Of which 58 species of trees, 15 species of shrubs, 4 species of grass, 19 species of leopards and 21 species of herbs. Himchari National Park is an ideal place for lovers of birds. There are 286 species of birds.
How to go there?
There are more numerous vehicles on the way to Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar. From Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar you can go three ways by road, train and air transport.
01. Roadway: Directly Cox’s Bazar goes to many buses from the capital of Dhaka. Shyamoli Transport, TR transport, Hanif Enterprise, Unique, S Alam Transport, Green Line, Saudia Transport, Desh Travels, Sohag Transport, buses from Dhaka’s main bus stand go directly to Cox’s Bazar. Rent is Non AC 800 to 1000 taka and AC 1400 – 2000 taka.
02. Trainway: Many trains reach Chittagong from Kamalapur Railway Station and Airport Railway Station in Dhaka. The names of the trains are Sonar Bangla, Surban Express, Mahanagar Probati, Mahanagar Gouduli, and Turna Nishita. Rent is about 600 to 1000. Will go by bus from Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar.
03. Skyway: Directly flight from Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport goes to Cox’s Bazar airport. Rent is about 5000 to 12000. The names of some air transport are Cox’s Bazar novo air, united air etc.
From Cox’s Bazar sea beach through Zip or CNG, you can go to Himchari National Park. Rent is 70-100 taka.

There are many hotels/ motels/resort for stay in Cox’s Bazar. There are currently 150,000 people holding capacity in Cox’s Bazar hotels. So don’t worry about the stay. But if you want a standard room in any hotel, before going there you should be booking this room. Especially winter season and after 2 Eid must be booked a standard room before going there.
