The Hussaini Dalan was originally built during the later half of the Mughal rule (17th century) in Dhaka. It was built as the Imambara or house of the Imam (religious leader) of the Shia community. Hussaini Dalan serves as the main Hussainiya of Dhaka, or venue for majlis or gatherings held during the month of Muharram, tenth day religious gathering commemorates the martyrdom of Hussain, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. It is open from 7.00am to 10.00pm daily.
How to go there?
Hossaini Dalan is situated in Nimtali of old Dhaka and Hossaini Dalan Road in Chakharpol area. From anywhere in Dhaka city can easily go to Old Dhaka via the public buses or CNG.
