Hatirjheel is an area of Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka which has been built for public transport. The project area is exposed and opened to the public on January 2, 2013. As a result of this project, passengers of Tejgaon, Gulshan, Badda, Rampura, Mouchak, and Magbazar areas of Dhaka are getting special privileges. Bangladesh Army’s Special Works Organization (SWO) is implementing and supervising the Hatirjheel project. One of the main objectives of this project is to improve rainwater waterlogging, and flood prevention, to improve the dirt water drainage system, reduce traffic congestion and strengthen the capital.
It is now a popular recreational spot for residents of Dhaka and is currently undergoing renovation. Hatirjheel has turned into one of the most favorite recreational places in Dhaka for the city dwellers. Numerous tourists and pedestrians visit the site every evening to enjoy the reflection of light and the fresh air. In the afternoon people, especially couples, visit Hatirjheel for recreational purposes. Since congested buildings permeate most of Dhaka, leaving few open places for people to feel the fresh air, Hatirjheel attracts the city dwellers with its fresh air.

From anywhere in Dhaka can easily go to Hatirjeel via the buses or CNG. Hatirjeel is situated in the center of Dhaka city. There is a bus service to visit Hatirjheel.
