Ramna Park is a park situated in Ramna area of Dhaka city. Ramna Park is a large park and most beautiful area situated in the heart of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. Every year there is the festival of Pahela Baishakh. This park is one of the most beautiful areas in Dhaka city with lots of trees and a lake near its center.
This park was established in 1610 in the Mughal period. At that time, the Ramna range was a huge area. The Mughals have named Ramna. From the old High Court building to the current road building, Mughals constructed gardens. But later in the company’s time, the area became a jungle. It was developed in the 19th century with the help of British rulers and Nawab of Dhaka. The construction of the city’s city plan was started in 1908 and was one of the key guests of the Qi Gardens in London. Ramna Park now protects an area of 68.50 acres (277,200 m2), of which the lake covers 8.76 acres (35,500 m2). Ramna Park now grows 71 species of flowering trees shrubs, perennials, and annuals, 36 species fruit-bearing plant, 33 species medicinal plant and 41 species of forestry and 11 other species. Walkways inside the park have been widened and five new gates built for entry from different sides. The Park features many beautiful and modern venues for relaxation. Presently every year in the Ramna Park, the festival is celebrated every year on the first day of Baishakh. The ritual ceremony is now very popular in Ramna Batmul’s Chayant.

Ramna Park is situated in the center of Dhaka City. There are many public buses or CNG. From anywhere in Dhaka City you can easily go to Ramna Park via the buses or CNG.
