National Parliament House

Name of the Parliament of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban or (National Parliament House). The National Parliament House is situated in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, within the capital of Dhaka.” Its area has 200 acres and total cost became $32m. It can be said that it is the best example of the architectural style of the modern era. It’s not only in Bangladesh, one of the world’s most spectacular buildings. This magnificent building was designed by American renowned architect Louis I Kahn.

It’s Supreme Legislature of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The number of members of the one-member parliament, 350; Out of which 300 MPs are elected by the people’s direct vote and the remaining 50 seats are reserved for women. The women members of reserved seats are elected by the election of 300 elected members of parliament (indirect election system). The term of parliament is five years. The Bengali nation is always proud of this extraordinary architecture. How to go there?
Four main roads surrounded by the Parliament’s complex located in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of Dhaka:

Lake Road on the north;
Rokeya Sarani on the east;
Manik Mia Avenue on the south and
Mirpur Road on the west.
As a result, it is possible to control the movement of vehicles easily during the parliament session.
